Editorial policy
The standards we use to separate reviewed guidance from unfinished research, and editorial judgment from commercial relationships.
Publication standards
Review state
Public editorial records must have identified authorship, a distinct reviewer, publication and review dates, a disclosure, and sources or explicit evidence notes. Draft, review, and archived records are not exposed through guessable production URLs.
Sources and scope
We favor primary and authoritative sources for factual claims. Statements are bounded to what the evidence supports, and uncertainty is not converted into certainty for the sake of a cleaner headline. General planning content does not replace advice from the qualified professionals responsible for a particular project.
Provider records
Provider pages require a canonical public website, service areas, documented capabilities, supporting source URLs, the date information was checked, and a commercial-relationship disclosure. We do not invent businesses, project histories, addresses, credentials, awards, testimonials, reviews, ratings, or service areas.
Locations and rankings
A state or city page is published only when researched providers or sourced local information make it substantively useful. We do not mass-publish thin geographic pages. We do not publish “best” rankings without a defined methodology and supporting evidence.
Commercial relationships
Paid placement, sponsorship, affiliate, or referral relationships are disclosed. Commercial status is distinct from editorial assessment and does not remove verification requirements.
Updates and corrections
Material updates receive a new update date and, where appropriate, a new review. Readers and authorized provider representatives may flag a possible error through the contact page. A correction request does not guarantee a particular wording or publication decision.
